La Caravane entrepreneuriale Ubisoft, presented by National Bank

La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec and Ubisoft are proud to join forces to create the all-new Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan, presented by National Bank. The only one of its kind in Canada, this support program is designed to accelerate the growth of Quebec video game entrepreneurs through an annual four-step itinerary. With the help of experts from our ecosystem, the program offers training, networking and professional exchanges, as well as a chance for the general public to discover our studios. With themes ranging from business start-up to marketing and discoverability, not forgetting the search for financing, independent video game companies will benefit from a complete path to ensure the success of their entrepreneurial project.

The program comprises four key events throughout the year:

The Caravan in Quebec City in February
Entrepreneurship in Startup mode, with interactive training and workshops on governance, business creation and management, and financing.

The regional Caravan in May
Entrepreneurship in growth mode with training workshops on marketing, merchandising and the discoverability of Quebec games in an increasingly competitive market, and meetings with students and the general public in the regions of Quebec.

The Publisher’s Caravan in November
Entrepreneurship in marketing and partnership mode at an annual meeting between international publishers and local entrepreneurs.

The Winter Caravan in December
The video game industry will be holding an executive summit and reaching out to the public in the run-up to the holiday season (hospitals, community centers, etc.) as part of initiatives and social actions linked to our expertise and products.

On May 4, 2023, La Caravane made a stop in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean!

This edition brought together over 40 independent studios and gave them the opportunity to meet XBOX-Game pass, and take part in a weekend of networking, training and discovery of the local video game ecosystem.

Including a stop in Quebec City for the Catapulte finals, in collaboration with Quebec EPIX, the studios met with experts in commercialization, financing and marketing. Alongside industry veterans Jason Della Rocca and Pierre Moisan, and with the presence of XBOX – Game Pass, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, they improved their pitches and developed business opportunities during professional exchanges in a close-knit environment.

A kiosk fair was held at La Pulperie in Chicoutimi to introduce the general public and local students to the studios, their game projects and the industry’s future professions.

The Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Caravan was presented by La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, Ubisoft and Québec EPIX, in partnership with CAE, Investissement Québec International, SYNTHÈSE, Promotion Saguenay, L’Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, Le Gouvernement du Québec, Affaires Mondiales Canada and Xsolla.
