Montréal, April 23rd 2020 La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec launches the GamesfromQuebec website, which presents more than 70 games produced and directed by independent and international studios. This online catalogue aims to promote Québec games produced and created by local artisans.

Québec ranks among the world’s three major video game production centers, along with California and Tokyo. For more than 20 years, independent and international studios have been building a creative industry that is a growth industry for the entire province. The sector generates more than $1 billion in economic spinoffs annually, with more 13,000 skilled jobs throughout the province. This fertile breeding ground for innovation has led to the creation of a network of entrepreneurs who contribute to the industry’s enviable international reputation.

“Québec’s strength lies in its know-how, creativity and, above all, the worldwide success of its productions, which position Québec as one of the world’s leading producers. We can be proud of this industry! “says Nadine Gelly, Executive Director of La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec.

La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, whose main mandate is to promote Québec’s video game industry locally and internationally and to support its development as a global hub, brings together more than 230 international and independent studios. La Guilde works closely with its members to develop and ensure the quality and diversity of the workforce, encourage creativity and innovation, implement structuring projects, while providing support for entrepreneurship. The launch of this site is one of the promising projects to promote the industry and its builders.
