Representing our industry

As the voice of the Quebec video game industry, La Guilde’s mission is to represent its members to government authorities at all levels. Through our government relations and public relations initiatives, and by publishing studies on our industry, La Guilde contributes to the maintenance and development of the sector, now firmly established among the world leaders.

Supported by its standing and ad hoc committees (RG/ Comm/ Immigration), La Guilde works to promote and represent the Quebec video game industry to the decision-makers who count at provincial and municipal levels, and in support of federal initiatives.

Our aim: to forge links with public decision-makers and get on the political agenda

Government representation

Throughout the year, the Guild meets with ministries, political staff, civil servants, MPs, opposition parties and strategic stakeholders to highlight the industry’s needs and participate in strategic discussions to foster its development. This enables us to position video games as a strategic sector for the Quebec economy and culture, and to be part of the government’s political agenda to anticipate, react and propose changes to the sector’s policies.

Strategic partnerships

The Guild works closely with government partners to develop programs and initiatives that support the creation, innovation and expansion of studios across Quebec.

Video Game Day at the National Assembly

Video Game Day in Quebec City is an annual flagship initiative dedicated to promoting our industry at the heart of Quebec’s institutions. The day brings together two initiatives:

  • Visits and meetings with decision-makers in Quebec City: La Guilde’s annual rendezvous with Finance, Economy, Higher Education, Employment, Immigration, Francisation, Members of Parliament, etc. to discuss priorities and opportunities for the industry.
  • Cocktail de l’industrie à l’Assemblée nationale: a fun event that brings together government guests, partners and members of the industry at the Agora de l’Assemblée nationale. It’s a highlight of the year that allows politicians to immerse themselves in the world of the industry and meet the talent that makes it up, through game presentations, inspiring speeches and networking. Over 100 participants and industry leaders take part each year.
